Installed late 2015, this garden has filled in beautifully, retaining an intentional simplicity. This was a fun project for me in terms of perceiving our clients' vision and seeing it through to it's full installation.
Though we prefer using a native grass, sometimes young children need a place to kick the soccer ball around so we chose the most efficient above-ground irrigation option. Today, there are more native grass sod options that, once established, don't need as much water. Some of the features of this landscape I'd like to point out are the focus on minimal plant species, a fairly reduced color palette and distinct textural shifts. Also, a majority of the planting areas are devoted to low water succulents with subtle palette contrasts that attract the eye.
